Call from the Government: We Must Bring Our Madman. Protest Action
The youth of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation are holding another protest action near the government building. This time, the protest started in a mysterious manner. Two girls wearing medical white coats approached the government building, bringing along a wheelchair. A woman accompanying them stated that they had received a call from the government, which is why they had come.
“We received a call from the government, saying that we should come to take our madman; they won’t let us inside,” she told reporters.
Shortly after, one of the activists announced through a loudspeaker that the doctors had come to take “the country’s supreme leading madman for treatment.” According to the young activist, they hope that adequate people can be found inside the government building to assess the psychological instability of the country’s Prime Minister.
“There is a person who currently occupies the position of the Prime Minister of Armenia and has mental issues,” the young man said in a conversation with reporters.
The protesters, equipped with slogans such as “The traitor must leave” and “Nikola, traitor,” are demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. They firmly believe that only after the Prime Minister's resignation can our country have the opportunity to stand up, recover, and develop.
“If the situation continues to remain as it is, if this traitor, this incompetent government that contradicts the interests of Armenia continues to govern, Armenia is doomed; our physical existence here is at risk,” noted Christine Vardanyan, a member of the ARF Youth Organization.
She emphasized that the message from today’s protest organizers is very clear: the country is currently being led by a psychologically unstable person who needs to leave as soon as possible.
It is noteworthy that although the number of participants in the protest is not large, dozens of police officers are already protecting the government building.
