Medvedev on the Status of Nagorno-Karabakh
The issue of the status of Nagorno-Karabakh has not been resolved, but it cannot be discussed at the moment; it is better to postpone it for the future. This was stated by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“In my opinion, it is absolutely clear to everyone today that the issue of status has indeed not been resolved, but it cannot be discussed now, as any electrification of the discussions around the status leads to heightened tension. It is impossible to do this now. The positions of the parties here are very different; there are even discussions within Armenia,” Medvedev said in an interview with Russian media.
