Vazgen Manukyan Acknowledged What Has Yet to Be Proven: Alen Simonyan
Vazgen Manukyan acknowledged what has yet to be proven. He stated that during the war he called Artsakh, urging the generals of the army to take power into their hands. This was reported by Alen Simonyan, the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, on his Facebook page.
He particularly noted: “What arguments should Mr. Manukyan use to substantiate his views? It is clear that the lands have been sold and so forth. In fact, he has inspired our military to believe that there is no sense in attacking Horadiz, but instead to attack the government building in Yerevan. If Vazgen Manukyan has carried this propaganda among the generals, one can assume that the same has been done by the forces that have nominated him as their candidate.”
“The somewhat lower-ranked ‘17s’ presumably carried this same propaganda among the colonels, lieutenant colonels, and majors, while even lower ranks propagated it among the captains and lieutenants, and lower ranks among the sergeants and privates.”
“During the war, these individuals were only engaged in one thing: from the general to the private, they worked to weaken and break the will of our army for victory. They believed that due to the legacy of negotiations they left behind, Jabrail and Horadiz should be given up to attack the building of the Armenian government. And for there to be a ‘legitimate’ excuse to attack the government building, there had to be as many failures as possible on the front line; for this, it was necessary to sow doubt among the soldiers, officers, and generals of the Armenian army, to weaken and break their will to fight and win.”
“At the same time, in Yerevan, ‘combat-ready’ detachments were being formed to attack the government and National Assembly buildings.”
