Resignations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Minister's Dismissal Possible Soon, Reports 'Past'
According to the newspaper, there are currently over a dozen resignation requests at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Notably, most of the resignation requests have been submitted by high-ranking diplomats and long-serving employees with extensive experience in the ministry.
Moreover, according to our sources, these resignation requests are not going to be the end of the matter. In a conversation with the newspaper, an employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs noted that the resignations were connected to the unclear foreign policy conducted by the political authority and the desire of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to appoint Lilit Makunts as ambassador.
This indicates that experienced and professional diplomats are dissatisfied with Pashinyan's political appointments in the field, which they see as 'shamefully weak'. Our information also suggests that the relationship between Foreign Minister Ara Aivazyan and Nikol Pashinyan is not smooth, as Aivazyan has openly expressed his disagreement with Pashinyan's approaches several times during this short period.
We have information that Aivazyan’s dismissal may also be possible in the near future.
