Opposition Activist Creates Facebook Group for Armenians and Azerbaijanis: Aiming for Peace and Reconciliation
Opposition activist Vardan Harutyunyan has announced on his Facebook page the creation of a group where Armenian and Azerbaijani youth can communicate. He stated, “The group was initiated by Armenian and Azerbaijani friends. This is not a state-level initiative, nor do we have international organizations, peacekeepers, or NGOs involved; it is just a group created by ordinary citizens. The purpose is peace, reconciliation, and friendship.”
He continued, “We get to know each other, share jokes, and discuss interesting topics. We have one rule in the group: we do not insult each other, and we do not spread hatred or animosity; otherwise, members will be blocked and removed from the group. There are two admins—a Armenian and an Azerbaijani—and two moderators, one from each side; I am the Armenian moderator. You can join...”
