Government Approves Bill to Celebrate National Minorities Day in Armenia
The government approved a bill today during its meeting proposing amendments to the law on "Holidays and Commemoration Days." The bill suggests designating the last Saturday of September as National Minorities Day in the Republic of Armenia.
The initiative was authored by Rustam Bakoyan, a member of the National Assembly from the 'My Step' faction and of Yazidi ethnicity. Previously, Bakoyan had introduced a proposal to celebrate the last Saturday of September as National Minorities Day in Armenia.
