Armenian Defense Minister Meets with Relatives of Captured Soldiers
On December 30, Armenian Defense Minister Vagharshak Harutyunyan met with the parents and relatives of soldiers captured in conflict, as reported by the Ministry of Defense press service.
The head of the defense agency detailed the process of repatriating the captured soldiers, mentioning that in order to address the issue promptly, the director of Armenia's National Security Service met with his counterparts from Russia and Azerbaijan in Moscow to discuss matters related to prisoner exchanges and the search for the missing.
The Armenian Defense Minister noted that active efforts continue in collaboration with the International Committee of the Red Cross and the command of the Russian peacekeeping forces. The personal cases of Armenian citizens held captive have also become subjects of investigation in the European Court of Human Rights.
Vagharshak Harutyunyan assured that the defense ministry will continue to exert every effort to return the captives to the Republic of Armenia as soon as possible.
