Shurnukh Residents Instructed by NSS to Remain in Their Homes Until January 2-3
The representative of the National Security Service of Armenia has instructed the residents of Shurnukh village in the Syunik region to remain in their homes until January 2-3. This was reported to NEWS.am by Menua Hovsepyan, the Deputy Mayor of Goris.
He stated that at the moment, the residents of the village have opened the highway that passes through Shurnukh. “We spoke with the representative from the NSS. Until January 2-3, people will stay in their homes. After that, they will understand what their further actions should be. Currently, the road is open,” said Hovsepyan.
It should be noted that it was announced today that half of the Shurnukh village must be vacated by the residents within one day. Azerbaijanis had indicated that the Armenian authorities were informed of this 10 days ago; however, residents insist that no one communicated this to them. Today, they closed the highway, demanding to know who was aware of this information 10 days ago.
