In order to address the humanitarian consequences of military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh, Russia has made a contribution of 2 million Swiss francs to the budget of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This decision was made by the Russian government. This is one of the most effective directions of Russia-ICRC cooperation.
“Our country is making great efforts to assist the civilian population and to restore infrastructure in the region. We are ready for further cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross and expect that the ICRC will continue its effective work in the areas under its jurisdiction,” stated the announcement from the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
