Criminal Case Against Director of Property Appraisal and Auction Center for Acts of Hooliganism

The investigation department for serious crimes of the Yerevan Investigative Committee has concluded the preliminary investigation of a criminal case initiated against the director of the State Property Management Committee's "Property Appraisal and Auction Center" (PAAC) due to acts of hooliganism committed by a group of individuals using violence and intentionally damaging a vehicle belonging to the PAAC.

This was reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The preliminary investigation revealed that on April 2, 2020, A.P., A.S., and A.K. displayed openly disrespectful behavior towards the public, deliberately grossly violating public order, and used violence against the director of the PAAC while intentionally damaging the "NISSAN SENTRA" vehicle owned by the PAAC near the "Kaizer" supermarket on Margaryan Street in Yerevan.

After the incident, a friend of A.P.'s father, having learned that the director of the PAAC had filed a report with the Armenian police regarding the incident, and that A.P. had been summoned to the police department in connection with the initiated criminal case, intentionally damaged the same "NISSAN SENTRA" vehicle registered to the PAAC and operated by the director in retaliation.

Based on sufficient evidence collected, A.P., A.S., and A.K. have been charged under Article 258 (hooliganism) part 3, subparagraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, while A.P.'s father's friend is charged under Article 185 (intentional destruction or damage to property) part 2, subparagraph 3.

The preliminary investigation has been completed, and the criminal case, with an accusatory conclusion, has been sent to the prosecutor overseeing the legality of the preliminary investigation for approval and forwarding to court.
