Deputy Chief of the Armenian Armed Forces Tiran Khachatryan Sues Naira Zohrabyan
The Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Armenia, Lieutenant General Tiran Khachatryan, has filed a lawsuit against Naira Zohrabyan, a member of the National Assembly representing the Prosperous Armenia faction. This was reported by Armtimes.com.
The lawsuit was submitted on December 17 and has been assigned to Judge Edward Amalyan of the General Jurisdiction Court of Yerevan. Khachatryan demands a public apology for the insult he claims to have suffered, as well as compensation for non-material damages.
The Yerevan Times has been unable to reach Tiran Khachatryan for a comment, and the Ministry of Defense has not provided any clarification regarding the reasons for the lawsuit.
It is possible that the lawsuit stems from a statement made by Naira Zohrabyan during a conversation with journalists in Sotk on November 27, where she said: “Yesterday we listened to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Tiran Khachatryan; today I advised him to take off his epaulettes, take his title of Hero of Artsakh to Yerablur, and eat a handful of soil there.”
