Georgia's New Parliament: Without the Opposition
Today marks the beginning of the first session of Georgia's 10th convocation of parliament, where the country's President Salome Zourabichvili will deliver an opening address, according to Aliq.ge.
Among the nine parties that surpassed the electoral threshold, only the ruling party, "Georgian Dream," will have its 90 members present. All 60 opposition members continue to boycott and refuse to enter the parliament.
Dozens of civil activists have already gathered in front of the entrances of the parliament building to hold a protest, chanting "slaves" in response to the ruling party's lawmakers.
