All Parties Will Benefit If Agreements to End War in Artsakh Are Implemented: Sergey Lavrov
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, Sergey Lavrov, believes that all parties will benefit if the agreements included in the statement to cease hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh are implemented.
Lavrov expressed this opinion during a press conference held on November 12. He emphasized that the unblocking of all transport and economic communications should play a significant positive role in the region's revival, including the development of the Armenian economy, which has been most affected by the deprivation of transport and trade links with Azerbaijan and Turkey.
“Now, according to this agreement, which has come into force, all these connections are being restored; the economy must breathe freely. If we implement everything we have agreed on, and so far I do not see any signs that someone is trying to disrupt these agreements, I am confident that everyone will benefit, everyone will come out ahead,” said the Russian Foreign Minister.
He added that on November 11, Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, and he spoke this morning with Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan. “I am confident that the Armenian government understands its responsibility, recognizes that it has signed these agreements in the interest of its people. And I am confident that the integrity of this agreement will be maintained and it will be implemented,” Lavrov stated.
The Russian Foreign Minister noted that he sees many political forces in Armenia that understand what is happening and are drawing the right conclusions from it.
