BBC Publishes Article on Azerbaijan's Casualties
The Russian service of the BBC has published an article regarding Azerbaijan's casualties, highlighting that while the country does not openly acknowledge losses in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, the graves in the city of Mingachevir, with a population of around 100,000, provide a rough idea of the scale of losses in Baku.
According to the source, 26 fresh graves of servicemen who fell in the Karabakh war have been discovered in Mingachevir's military cemetery. “So many are buried here since the escalation of the Karabakh conflict,” writes the author.
The source also recalls Azerbaijani President Aliyev's statement in an interview with Russia's “First Channel,” where he mentioned that information regarding casualties is currently classified and will be released after the active phase of military operations has concluded. However, it also references data from the Armenian Ministry of Defense, which indicates that Azerbaijan has faced 6,309 casualties from September 27 to October 20.
