We Must Show the World the Political Devious Nature of Azerbaijani Attacks: Human Rights Defender
Unfortunately, as a result of the military actions unleashed by Azerbaijan, there are not only military casualties but also deaths and injuries among the civilian population. Condolences are expressed to the relatives of the victims. This was stated by the Human Rights Defender of Armenia, Arman Tatoyan, during a press briefing.
He noted that in recent days, the Defender's work has been highly targeted, aimed at clarifying the logic behind the attacks, as this directly relates to the rights to life and health. “We must show the world the political devious nature of these attacks, which clearly aim for ethnic cleansing,” emphasized the Defender.
A. Tatoyan stated that the adversary is targeting civilian infrastructure with weapons prohibited by humanitarian law, demonstrating that the civilian population is deliberately being targeted. According to him, densely populated areas, such as Stepanakert and Hadrut, are being hit with these weapons.
The Human Rights Defender assured that all evidence will be sent to international organizations. “The research shows that the attacks happen in the evening when people are at home or even asleep. The purpose of these attacks is to inflict maximum harm on the civilian population. This refers to shelling in both Artsakh and Armenia,” he noted.
Addressing the involvement of mercenaries in combat operations, Tatoyan said that this is already an internationally proven fact, a crime, and those who have used this resource must be held accountable.
