Russian General Killed in Explosion in Syria

A senior military advisor, a Russian national with the rank of major general, has been killed in an explosion in Syria. According to RIA Novosti citing the Russian Defense Ministry, two other Russian soldiers were injured as a result of the incident.

The explosion occurred when a convoy was returning from a humanitarian mission in Deir ez-Zor. It is reported that a homemade explosive device was detonated.

The major general was immediately evacuated from the scene and provided with medical assistance, but unfortunately, he could not be saved. He was posthumously nominated for a state award.

The Defense Ministry has promised to provide necessary support to the fallen general's family.
