Tragic Accident in Lori Province: 19-Year-Old Driver Dies, His Brother Hospitalized

On August 1, a tragic car accident occurred in Lori Province, as reported by Shamshyan.com.

Around 18:30, in the area of the road leading from the community of Mets Parni to the community of Tsaghkaber, 19-year-old Hovhannes Avalyan from Mets Parni lost control of his Volkswagen vehicle under yet unknown circumstances, veering off the roadway and overturning.

As a result of the accident, H. Avalyan and an 18-year-old passenger, Samvel Avalyan, also from the same village, sustained injuries and were transported to the Spitak Medical Center. After receiving initial medical care, they were transferred to the Vanadzor Medical Center.

While the police were investigating the circumstances of the incident, at approximately 19:45, a report was received by the Spitak police from the Vanadzor Medical Center stating that H. Avalyan had died without regaining consciousness.

A criminal case has been initiated under Part 2 of Article 242 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia. Traffic police, Spitak police, and investigators located the vehicle based on operational information, as it had been removed from the scene after the accident. The deceased and the injured are brothers.
