The Target of 'My Step' is the BHK MPs: Will They Vote No Confidence Against Naira Zohrabyan?
Lilit Makunts and Sisak Gabrielyan are initiating changes to the Rules of Procedure of the National Assembly, aiming to establish a permanent Ethics Committee, as was done previously. According to the new rules, the Ethics Committee is temporary, created for a specific case. The issue of having a permanent committee has come to the forefront in the context of fighting against the BHK, especially regarding Naira Zohrabyan and Gevorg Petrosyan. They received abusive messages and responded in kind.
The My Step faction has a far-reaching plan. Once the committee records that they have violated ethics, they will then initiate the process of voting no confidence against Naira Zohrabyan, the head of the National Assembly's Human Rights Committee, and the issue will be decided through a closed vote.
Makunts has suggested to the LHK and BHK to become co-authors of the draft. In the event of the initiative's success, they promised the position of the committee chair to the LHK, but the LHK has refused. Edmon Marukyan stated, 'As long as there is no draft, we refrain from expressing an opinion. It is their initiative; let them bring it forward, we will understand what it is about, and we will discuss accordingly.' He then added, 'Instead of creating an Ethics Committee, they should stop organizing hooliganistic attacks. MPs who strike from behind should not be justified but punished. Before creating an Ethics Committee, they must prove everything in practice.'
The BHK, for its part, is contemplating abandoning all parliamentary positions if they target Zohrabyan, including the chairmanship of the committee and the deputy speaker of the National Assembly,' the newspaper writes. Read the full article in today's issue of the newspaper.
