Body of Glee Actress Naya Rivera Found in Piru Lake

Rescue teams in Ventura County, California, have discovered the body of missing American actress Naya Rivera in Piru Lake. According to local sheriff Bill Ayub on Twitter, the 33-year-old actress had visited the lake with her 4-year-old son, Josey, the previous Wednesday.

A few hours later, the boy was found alone in a boat, but his mother was not located. Rivera's vehicle was found parked nearby. As noted by complex.com, the child reported that they had been swimming together but did not know how his mother had drowned.

After the discovery of the actress's body, Ventura County Sheriff Bill Ayub stated that the initial theory suggests that Naya Rivera used her last strength to save her 4-year-old son. “She had enough energy to get her son back to the boat but not enough to save herself,” the sheriff said.
