«Hraparak»: Weapons Not Taken from Constitutional Court Judges, But What If They Use Them?
«Hraparak» newspaper writes: “Will there be a ‘historic’ session of the Constitutional Court today? We asked the head of the Constitutional Court staff, Edgar Ghazaryan. ‘Seven sessions are scheduled for 11 AM, you may know that each agenda item is a separate session.’
‘Besides the issue of Kocharyan, are there any other important issues?’ ‘For us, all issues are important, there is no unimportant issue among us.’ Will the session take place? ‘The session is legally valid with the participation of 5 judges, I think it will happen.’
‘You now have several ‘presidents’ of the Constitutional Court; which president will lead the session?’ ‘The session will be held, you will find out.’ In any case, 3 judges will not participate as they are not allowed to enter the Constitutional Court building.
‘The responsible party for this is the police, which does not have such authority; they should only ensure the safety of the building. There has been no instruction from the Constitutional Court staff to block the building.’
‘By law, all judges of the Constitutional Court are provided with service weapons by the police; we have information that the weapons of those judges who are not allowed to enter the building have not been taken back, and these weapons were provided to eliminate obstacles to their safety and official duties. And why haven’t the weapons been taken back? What if they ‘use’ them?’ ‘These questions should be directed to the police; if they have not been taken back, why haven’t they been taken back?’
