Conflict Between Avan Deputy Mayor and Gagik Petrosyan of the Prosperous Armenia Party

According to Factor.am, recently, Avan Deputy Mayor Nerses Poghosyan and Gagik Petrosyan, a member of the Prosperous Armenia Party in the National Assembly, had a conflict due to a Facebook post. In an interview with the media outlet, Deputy Mayor Poghosyan did not deny the incident, stating that he called Petrosyan regarding the 'posts'.

Poghosyan mentioned that they did not understand each other well, and decided to meet to talk, after which they reached an understanding. When asked if the meeting escalated to physical confrontation, Poghosyan replied, 'No, we talked and it smoothed over'.

Factor.am also spoke with Gagik Petrosyan, who stated, 'He called me, urging me not to make posts against the Prime Minister. I explained to him that the Avan mayor is a very small person who has no right to obstruct or reprimand a member of the National Assembly for expressing an opinion.' Petrosyan also noted that insults directed at his family members were the reason for his post regarding the Prime Minister.
