Diana Galoyan, Rector of HPU, Has Requested to Terminate Her Powers
Diana Galoyan, the rector of the Armenian State University of Economics (HPU), announced on her Facebook page that she has submitted a request to Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Arayik Harutyunyan to terminate her powers in order to eliminate speculation and participate in the upcoming competition for the rector position.
In her statement, Galoyan wrote: “Dear colleagues and students, As you know, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia has announced a competition for the vacant position of rector at HPU. I plan to participate in the competition and therefore have submitted a request to the Minister of Education to terminate my duties as acting rector effective July 1. As a candidate for the rectorship, I am convinced that this will create equal conditions for all candidates, avoid further speculation, and will contribute to a more transparent and impartial conduct of the announced competition.
I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, led by Arayik Harutyunyan, my beloved HPU staff and students, and partner organizations for their effective work over these months. The last few months have been a tough trial for all of us, but together we overcame all difficulties. I am confident that we will continue working together for a long time, witnessing HPU’s progress.
Stay well!”
