Taxi Driver Violates Quarantine Rules, Hospitalized as Condition Worsens

The police have provided details regarding the case of a taxi driver who violated quarantine conditions.

“On June 24, officers from the Kotayk Division of the police received information that one of the residents of Abovyan, infected with coronavirus, was violating self-isolation rules by providing taxi services in his vehicle within the city. Kotayk police quickly verified the information and located the 68-year-old man, whose health condition deteriorated the same day, leading to his hospitalization in one of the medical facilities in the capital. The vehicle has been sealed and is not in operation.

A criminal case has been initiated based on the violation of self-isolation or other restrictions on the right to free movement during the state of emergency declared due to the crisis, and an investigation is underway. Measures are being taken to identify individuals who utilized his services.
