During the months of March to May this year, Armenia registered fewer deaths than in 2019. This was reported by Shushan Doydoyan, head of the Center for Freedom of Information, on her Facebook page, presenting these statistics.
She wrote specifically: “The comparison of the total number of registered deaths in March to May of the years 2018, 2019, and 2020 shows a surprising picture.
2018 March-May – 6,403 deaths
2019 March-May - 6,841 deaths
2020 March-May - 6,546 deaths
COVID-19 has not increased the total number of deaths this year compared to last year. Moreover, last year, there were 295 more deaths registered than this year (for the periods of March to May).
