They Want to Mold Me into Serzh Sargsyan, They Want to Create Their Own Repulsive Image: Prime Minister

“They say that if the search took place in February, then why has no proper investigation been conducted until now?” Today, on June 25, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan mentioned this during his speech in the National Assembly, addressing the criminal case against the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, Gagik Tsarukyan.

“I am also saying this. Who says that you are the ones asking this question? First of all, I am asking this question, which needs to be clarified. And this question has been clarified, and it is also the result of which concrete decisions have been made. For a year and a half, I have been saying that the law enforcement system is not adequately investigating corruption and related cases. That’s what we are talking about.

I don't understand, are they handing out bribes, are they monopolizing half the country? One of them is from the family, saying, ‘I am the man, I won’t come out from under the dining table.’ And another advises others, ‘Come out from Facebook and connect with reality.’ You should come out from under the table first, then advise others,” said Pashinyan.

“And they found a way, they want to drag us into a senseless conversation. For example, we say: Serzh Sargsyan's family, you stole 'Dzorahyek', you committed smuggling with the 'Spayka' company, the 'Hilton' hotel is yours, the 'Opera Suite' hotel is yours. You have essentially seized the Armenian media landscape by force - Armenia TV, Shant TV, and other television companies. We say that a system of electoral fraud existed, led by Serzh Sargsyan’s family, starting from sociological surveys, to exit polls, and staging electoral incidents at specific polling stations.

And when opposition journalists said that there was electoral fraud at such-and-such polling station, all journalists and observers rushed there. This was a plan laid out by Serzh Sargsyan’s family to concentrate everyone in one polling station, while during that time, in other polling stations, the business was being taken care of. Let’s say, a person attempted to vote using someone else's passport, the fraudster was caught. Naturally, all observers and journalists rushed there with special forces, and in the end, it turned out that a 50-year-old citizen accidentally took his wife's passport. And that 50-year-old woman’s name and surname had been previously determined by the Republican Party, more accurately, by Serzh Sargsyan's family. They said, ‘Citizen, on such-and-such date, at such-and-such time, you will accidentally take your wife's passport, go and cast it, then there will be noise until we settle issues in other polling stations.’

Now they are telling us that you are smuggling and why specifically it falls on my family that we are smugglers, that we are corrupt, that we are racketeers. In other words, they want to take their image from us. They understood that their image is the main driving force of the revolution and since they want to make a revolution, they want to mold me into Serzh Sargsyan through those 'free' media, creating their own repulsive image. This is their entire goal, but that goal will not pass.

It is not customary to quote from movies here, but there is a very famous Russian film with a well-known sentence that says, ‘Do you think power lies in money? No, it lies in truth.’ There is no doubt that we will bring that corrupt system to capitulation, because behind us, in our minds, there is one thing - the truth. We will walk this path, and it is regrettable that many have lagged behind on this path, they are lagging behind and will remain irretrievably and irreversibly so,” announced Pashinyan.
