Turkish Authorities to Renovate Manuchair Mosque in Ani Ruins
Turkish authorities have decided to completely renovate the Manuchair Mosque located in the ruins of Ani. The Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology has announced that under the supervision of the General Directorate of Development Agencies, work has begun with the aim of preserving the mosque for future generations and promoting it globally. This was reported by Ermenihaber.
A protocol has been signed between the General Directorate of Development Agencies and the General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums for the implementation of the mosque's reconstruction and design activities. According to the protocol, 26 development agencies operating in various regions of Turkey will provide financial support for the project, and the renovation works are expected to be completed by August 26, 2021, to coincide with the 950th anniversary of the Battle of Manazkert.
