Artsakh President to Donate Salary to Fund for Veterans and Students
The President of the Republic of Artsakh, Araik Harutyunyan, announced on his Facebook page that during his over ten years of service as Prime Minister and State Minister, he regularly allocated his monthly salary to various charitable projects.
“Since my family has other sources of income, and I have spoken about this many times, I have never received a salary nor have I used state resources during my foreign trips. Today, I have decided to systematically transfer 150,000 AMD from my salary to the ‘Ivan Atayan’ educational foundation each month until the end of the year to provide scholarships to students who excel in science subjects. The remaining amount will be fully directed to the fund of the Union of Artsakh Freedom Fighters, of which I am a board member and I completely trust the transparency of its operations. The funds will be used to address various social issues faced by first category disabled soldiers,” Harutyunyan wrote.
