COVID-19 Cases Increase at the State Revenue Committee; High-Ranking Officials Infected
The COVID-19 pandemic is spreading significantly within government structures in Armenia. According to NEWS.am sources, several dozen cases of the virus have been confirmed at the State Revenue Committee, particularly among tax inspectors, including some high-ranking officials.
Recently, COVID-19 testing was conducted among employees of the Shengavit and Erebuni tax inspections located in the same building, with many test results confirming infections. The affected employees are currently in self-isolation and receiving treatment at home.
Previously, reports have emerged regarding cases recorded within the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. Specifically, infections have been reported in the National Assembly, several ministries, the Court of Cassation, as well as in Yerevan and regional courts, detention facilities, and other agencies. However, the highest number of infections is currently within the healthcare sector, predominantly among healthcare workers.
