U.S. State Department Interested in Putin's Article on World War II

The article by Russian President Vladimir Putin on World War II has generated significant interest in the U.S. State Department and has sparked discussions. This was announced by the Russian Ambassador to Washington, Anatoly Antonov, as reported by RIA Novosti.

According to him, diplomats have sent the article to the leadership of the State Department, leading NGOs, the embassies of several leading Western European states, and CIS diplomatic representations. The U.S. State Department, Antonov stated, is interested in the summit proposed by President Vladimir Putin, which was mentioned in his article on World War II regarding the “Nuclear Five.” He emphasized that “this meeting should determine the outlines of international policy and strengthen global security.”

The head of the diplomatic mission noted that there are accumulated questions from the United States directed towards Russia regarding their plans and changes in the strategic security architecture. He stressed that Moscow cannot ignore the fact that the U.S. has withdrawn from agreements on missile defense, the intermediate and shorter-range missiles, and the Open Skies Treaty.

Antonov added that experts have noted the timely publication of the Russian leader's article and the finality concerning who initiated the war and which side emerged victorious. According to the ambassador, representatives of the American State Department wish to explore how to utilize the approaches proposed by Putin in modern life.
