Preventive Measures Against Coronavirus Implemented in Artsakh's Hadrut Region: 24 Cases Reported

The Artsakh Information Headquarters reports that preventive measures against the spread of the new coronavirus are ongoing in the Hadrut region, as well as anti-epidemic control activities in identified hotspots. As of June 19, a total of 24 cases of the new type of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in the region, all linked to the same outbreak.

In light of the recorded cases and aimed at preventing further transmission, temporary restrictions have been introduced in the confirmed COVID-19 communities by the decision of the Artsakh Republic Prime Minister. Disinfection has been carried out in those communities by the Hadrut division of the Artsakh Republic Emergency Situations Ministry and the “Dizakshin” LLC. Disinfection efforts are also ongoing in confirmed hotspots by the personnel of the Epidemiology and Hygiene Department of Hadrut.

Kamo Petrosyan, the region's administrative head, mentioned that masks and alcohol gel have been provided to residents of the communities with confirmed cases. He highlighted that he is in constant communication with the leaders of all communities, organizing regular tours and conducting working meetings.

On June 18, a working meeting was held in the Togh sub-region with the participation of community leaders, while observing anti-epidemic measures. The meeting addressed ongoing measures for the prevention of the new coronavirus, harvest collection, firefighting safety, and issues related to drinking water.

In an interview, K. Petrosyan emphasized that he is directly overseeing all activities organized in the region. He noted that strict control is being maintained, especially regarding mourning ceremonies held in the region, where the first cases of the virus were registered after one such ceremony. Therefore, measures have been intensified to prevent new outbreaks.

Overall, anti-epidemic safety regulations are being upheld in the region. Following the Prime Minister's decision, residents are required to wear masks in enclosed spaces, with some also wearing rubber gloves. In institutions, mandatory temperature checks are conducted twice on employees, and the data is recorded in special registers. Trading points are adhering to established regulations, and the public has begun to show understanding towards the measures being implemented.
