Dilijan Football Club Director Fined 250,000 Drams
The Football Federation of Armenia's disciplinary and ethics committee made a decision during its meeting on June 18 to prohibit Artak Melikyan, the director of the Dilijan Football Club, from participating in matches of the Armenian First League until the end of the 2019/20 season. The Dilijan FC was also fined 250,000 AMD.
According to the committee's decision, this action was taken in response to an incident that occurred during the match between Torpedo and Dilijan FA on June 12, 2020. During the halftime break, an altercation took place between HFF referee Kamo Mahdesyan and Melikyan. Melikyan was removed from the stadium by the referee's order due to offensive language.
“On June 12, 2020, during the match Torpedo vs. Dilijan FA (match number AХ217), due to the offensive language used by Artak Melikyan, the director of Dilijan FC, it was decided in accordance with Article 31, Clause 26 of the HFF Disciplinary and Ethics Regulations: to prohibit Artak Melikyan from participating in matches of the Armenian First League until the end of the 2019/20 season and to fine Dilijan FC 250,000 AMD,” the committee's decision stated.
