Former MP from BHK Charged; Request for Arrest Submitted to Court
The National Security Service has charged former MP Abraham Manukyan of the Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK) in an ongoing criminal investigation.
This was confirmed by Gor Abrahamyan, advisor to the Prosecutor General, in response to a query from "Haykakan Zaman". He added that the preliminary investigative body has submitted a request to the court to choose arrest as a measure of restraint against Manukyan.
The request has yet to be reviewed. It is noteworthy that the charges have been filed specifically under Article 38-154.2, Part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia, which pertains to providing assistance in giving bribes to voters personally or through intermediaries in favor of or against any party or candidate or refusing to participate in elections or voting more than once.
It should be mentioned that Abraham Manukyan was released just yesterday.
