BHK Negotiates with Bright Armenia on Two Issues: Tonoyan Details
The Prosperous Armenia party (BHK) will present two initiatives today. The party is proposing the creation of an investigative committee to examine the circumstances of coronavirus prevention, mitigation of its consequences, and the overall organization of work. This was stated by BHK deputy Iveta Tonoyan during a briefing with reporters at the National Assembly.
"We will present these two initiatives today. The work related to the investigative committee and the application to the Constitutional Court are already underway. We call on our partners from Bright Armenia to join us in this process so that we have enough signatures both for the creation of the investigative committee and for the application to the Constitutional Court," stated Iveta Tonoyan.
According to her, they are obliged to clarify whether the fight against the coronavirus and the prevention process have been effective, and whether the actions of the state of emergency and the government were lawful and timely. "The delays in their decisions have often been linked to the acceleration of the spread of the virus and the number of deaths, for which some representatives of the authorities have admitted their share of guilt. In particular, the Prime Minister stated that we are going through hell, and the Minister of Health apologized. However, in this case, we cannot be limited to apologies because we are dealing with people's lives and health," she added.
