Deputy Head of the Penitentiary Service Has Passed Away
The Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia expresses its deep sorrow over the passing of Vahe Papoyan, deputy head of the Penitentiary Service and Justice Colonel, at the age of 52 on June 16.
According to a statement on the Penitentiary Service's website, Vahe Papoyan had a significant career in public service, starting in 1995 with the National Security Service, and then joining the Penitentiary Service in 2015. Since July 18, 2019, he had held the position of deputy head of the Penitentiary Service.
Throughout his lengthy service, Vahe Papoyan earned love and respect from his colleagues, distinguished himself with high professionalism and state-centered thinking. He was awarded numerous medals and insignia, including the medals for “Combat Service,” “For Combat Cooperation,” “For Impeccable Service,” “Defender of the Law,” “For Cooperation,” “For Excellent Service,” and insignia for “20 Years of Impeccable Service” and “Honorable Penitentiary Worker.”
The memorial service for Vahe Papoyan will take place on June 17 of this year at 18:00 in the “Lyuvar” mourning hall (18 Silikyan Old Highway), with the funeral set for June 18 at 14:00 from the same hall.
