No Political Decision to Appeal to the National Assembly for Stripping Gagik Tsarukyan of Immunity, Prosecutor's Office
No political decision exists, nor can it be made, to appeal to the National Assembly regarding the stripping of Gagik Tsarukyan's immunity. This was stated by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Armenia.
According to them, filing a request to the National Assembly by the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Armenia to initiate criminal prosecution against the parliament member and gain consent for deprivation of liberty is not a political process. It is strictly legal and is based exclusively on the sufficiency of factual data and evidence obtained.
Currently, investigations are underway regarding specific criminal cases, and the procedural actions will be determined based on the progress of these investigations and the sufficiency of the obtained evidence.
