Possibility of Deep Triage: Arsen Torosyan
“It is possible that we will go into deep triage,” said Minister of Health Arsen Torosyan during an online discussion on the topic of “Republic of Armenia’s Health Policy in the Context of the Coronavirus Pandemic.”
He elaborated that such measures are also taken during wartime, where treatment is prioritized for those injured individuals who have a chance of survival.
“It cannot be ruled out that even under the current pace, we may resort to this. But we are doing everything to prevent it. For example, we are adding new beds,” he noted.
It is noteworthy that, according to official data, 74 people have died due to coronavirus in Armenia, while an additional 28 patients with the virus have died from other diseases. Torosyan had previously stated that the condition of over 100 individuals is assessed as severe.
