There are 620,905 Jobs in Armenia, According to the Prime Minister
As of April 29, 2020, there were 620,905 jobs in Armenia. This figure refers only to those jobs for which individuals received salaries and for which tax calculations and declarations were submitted. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during a session of the National Assembly on May 6 while discussing the performance of the government program for 2019, also reporting on the results of 16 programs implemented by the government to overcome the socio-economic consequences of the coronavirus pandemic.
According to him, in February, there were 618,000 jobs in Armenia. “In the summer of 2019, we recorded for the first time that the number of jobs in Armenia exceeded 600,000,” Pashinyan said.
The Prime Minister noted that in April, the wage fund reached 123.9 billion drams, compared to 119.7 billion drams in February. “I mention this to show that the government has been able to manage the crisis, which confidently indicates the absence of a social crisis,” the Prime Minister emphasized.
