In May, 100,000 AMD for Each Family: Edmon Marukyan
The leader of the LHK faction of the National Assembly, Edmon Marukyan, has proposed an idea in a video message that is being implemented in various countries. For instance, the United States has opted to provide direct cash to people. Citizens spend this money on their needs, thereby revitalizing the economy.
According to the MP, the financial resources allocated by the government for anti-crisis programs constitute only 1% of the GDP, while the rest is made up of loan programs. Many entrepreneurs are also complaining that they cannot obtain loans. Thousands of real needy individuals have been left out of the programs. Furthermore, there is no need to support public sector employees in the public service sector.
“We propose to allocate 100 billion AMD starting in May, with 50 billion AMD distributed to 500,000 families, giving each 100,000 AMD. The remaining 50 billion AMD should be distributed to pensioners,” Marukyan stated.
Marukyan asserted that there are sufficient financial resources to implement this idea.
“There is money; this money is deposited in the treasury account in the Central Bank—over 300 billion AMD,” the MP emphasized.
