Brothers Detained for Stabbing Police Officers: ‘Tsran Virgon’ and ‘Kaj Nazar’
On April 14 in Gyumri, a criminal case has been initiated against Ara Galstyan, 32, and Liparit Galstyan, 28, residents of Karnut village in the Shirak province, who used violence against police officers performing their legal duties at Hayouti Square.
According to Shamshyan.com, Officer Argam Hovhannisyan, 31, from the 2nd platoon of the 2nd battalion of the traffic police, was hospitalized with an injury to his left thigh, while Officer Arkadik Baghdasaryan, 25, from the Kumayri police department, suffered an injury to his left chest area and was also transferred to the Gyumri hospital.
At the scene, the Galstyan brothers refused to comply with the legal demands of the police officers. Driver Ara Galstyan declined to show his driver's license and vehicle registration document, preventing the officer from writing an appropriate report for the traffic violation. During this time, Liparit Galstyan, who is the brother of Ara, insisted that the driver had no documents to present and shouted sexual insults towards the police officers for an extended period.
