20-Year-Old Stabbing Incident in Gyumri Revealed
On April 12, 2020, at 21:35, a report was received from the Gyumri Medical Center about a 20-year-old resident of Gyumri who was transferred with stab wounds to the median third of the front surface of the right thigh, the upper third of the rear external surface, stab wounds in the right gluteal area, a stab wound on the rear-external surface of the left thigh, acute blood loss, and hemorrhagic hypovolemic shock, as reported by the Information and Public Relations Department of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
Following the incident, a criminal case was initiated based on Article 112 (Deliberately causing severe harm to health) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia at the Shirak Regional Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee. It was established during the preliminary investigation that at approximately 20:30 on April 12, 2020, a dispute occurred between local youths near a supermarket on Musayelyan Street in Gyumri, during which a 22-year-old man stabbed his fellow citizen and fled the scene.
Later that same day, the 22-year-old voluntarily appeared before law enforcement and provided a confession. He has since been interrogated as a suspect. A signature as a preventive measure was chosen to ensure he does not flee. Forensic examinations have been appointed, and the preliminary investigation continues.
