Man Stabs Acquaintance During Argument Over Refusal to Drink Alcohol
On April 6, 2020, at 08:35, a report was received from the Vanadzor Medical Center regarding a 49-year-old resident of Vanadzor who was admitted with a diagnosis of "penetrating wound to the right side of the chest." The law enforcement agency's investigation department in the Lori region has launched a criminal case regarding the incident.
It was established that around 23:30 on April 5, 2020, an argument erupted near one of the shacks on Moscow Street in Vanadzor over the refusal to drink alcohol. During this altercation, a 55-year-old man intentionally inflicted knife wounds on his 49-year-old acquaintance, causing severe harm to his health.
During the investigation, the 55-year-old man provided a self-incriminating confession and presented the knife used in the crime. Based on the sufficient combination of evidence gathered, the 55-year-old man has been charged under part 1 of Article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia for intentionally causing severe damage to health. The investigation is ongoing.
