Lawyer of Arakel Movsisyan's Son Files Complaint with the Anti-Corruption Committee
In the case regarding the death of mandatory military serviceman, Private Vahram Mkrtich's Avagyan, lawyer for the accused David Movsisyan has filed a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Committee (ACC), submitted an appeal to the Court of Appeal, and filed another appeal regarding the extension of the sanction.
This was reported to NEWS.am by lawyer Gor Gevorgyan. He stated, “I have filed a complaint with the ACC against the illegal actions of the investigator. I appealed the decision of the first instance court in Syunik region, which rejected the motion for bail as an alternative measure of restraint. I have also requested another bail and appealed the decision on the extension of the sanction. I have utilized every legal option available.”
Speaking of changes to the measures of restraint for detainees due to the pandemic, he noted, “Courts are releasing many detainees due to the pandemic. Even entry of lawyers to the ‘Shushi’ penitentiary is restricted to prevent the spread of the virus, and it is with this approach that people are being released. We will see what the state and the courts’ attitude will be regarding David Movsisyan’s case.”
