Penalties for Violating the State of Emergency Regulations
The government has issued a statement outlining the penalties established for violating the regulations of the state of emergency.
The statement reads: "The Government of the Republic of Armenia declared a state of emergency on the territory of the Republic of Armenia from March 16, 2020, to April 14, 2020. We urge everyone to unconditionally comply with the decisions of the government regarding the declaration of the state of emergency, as well as the decisions adopted by the emergency commander and competent state bodies based on it, and the instructions issued by the competent authorities.
At the same time, we inform you that Article 182.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code of the Republic of Armenia establishes liability for violations of the legal regime of the state of emergency.
Specifically:
- Violating the special regime for entering and exiting the state of emergency area will result in a fine ranging from five times the established minimum wage to seventy times.
- Violating the special rules set by the Government of the Republic of Armenia regarding the sale, acquisition, and circulation of food and essential goods during the state of emergency will result in a fine ranging from one hundred times to three hundred times the established minimum wage.
- Violating the prohibition on strikes and other measures that suspend or cease the activities of legal entities during the state of emergency will lead to a fine ranging from five times to two hundred times the established minimum wage.
- Violating restrictions on the movement of vehicles and obstructing their inspection during the state of emergency will result in a fine ranging from five times to one hundred times the established minimum wage.
- Publishing forbidden materials or reports by mass media during the state of emergency will result in a fine ranging from five hundred times to eight hundred times the established minimum wage.
