Hakob Karapetyan Responds to Tehmine Vardanyan's Post
It is very important for public figures who express their opinions on various issues on public platforms to be attentive when reading and interpreting documents related to the issue. This was written by the spokesperson for the mayor, Hakob Karapetyan, on his Facebook page.
“City Council member, esteemed Tehmine Vardanyan, has made a post where she mentioned that she received a letter from the city hall suggesting the postponement of the March 19 meeting until March 31. The letter was addressed to the leaders of three factions by Mayor Hayk Marutyan, in which the mayor proposed, and I quote verbatim, ‘by 14:00 on March 18, after consulting with your faction members, to present your position regarding the possibility of postponing the Yerevan City Council meeting on 19.03.2020. If you have other suggestions, please provide justifications for them…’
“The ‘Light’ faction did not respond to the mayor within the specified timeframe, meaning that no position was submitted. Taking into account the positions of the other factions and especially the position of the council's majority, the ‘My Step’ faction, it was decided to inform that the meeting will take place on the 19th in the Yerevan City Hall’s gallery,” wrote Karapetyan.
