Lena Nazaryan Attends the Funeral of Murdered Woman in Gyumri

Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Lena Nazaryan wrote on her Facebook page: "I attended the funeral of a murdered woman in Gyumri. Present were also Governor Tigran Petrosyan, Mayor Samvel Balasanyan, and the Prime Minister's spokesperson Mane Gevorgyan. If fate and close individuals have been cruel, then society must be caring and sensitive; if the environment has turned a blind eye, then the state must be responsible for its citizens. This incident would not have happened if relatives, neighbors, and teachers had raised the alarm in time, and of course, if social service workers had properly fulfilled their duties. We must not allow new victims to emerge under the cloak of silence and inaction. I also thank the journalists who are bringing attention to social issues such as violence."
