Veolia Water Company Fined 10 Million Dram
The Public Services Regulatory Commission of Armenia fined Veolia Water company 10 million Armenian drams for multiple violations during its session on February 28.
The analysis of information regarding new connections or modifications to the water supply and sewerage systems by Veolia Water for the third quarter of 2019 revealed cases of exceeding the deadlines established by the provider's regulations for connecting individuals to the water supply and sewerage systems.
According to the commission, considering the aforementioned, it initiated an administrative proceeding which found that Veolia Water had violated the requirements of Item 16 of the regulations on drinking water supply and sewerage during several instances in the third quarter of 2019. Specifically, the company failed to present a one-sided signed connection agreement or technical conditions, or did so beyond the deadlines stipulated by the regulations.
Thus, for violating Item 16 of the regulations, the commission imposed a fine on the company amounting to 10 million Armenian drams.
