Serzh Sargsyan's Office Issues Statement

The office of the third President of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, has issued a statement, which we present below:

“The office of the third president of the Republic of Armenia expresses gratitude to the thousands of supporters of Serzh Sargsyan who attended the trial that started today, based on fabricated charges, despite adverse weather conditions. Their presence symbolizes public support for a political figure, a state and political leader, who is, in essence, undergoing political persecution, and a hero of Artsakh.

We also thank the thousands of compatriots living in Armenia, Artsakh, and abroad, who, through their phone calls and numerous letters sent to the office, condemn the ongoing political persecution carried out under the current authorities in Armenia, and extend their unconditional support to the third president of the Republic of Armenia.

Serzh Sargsyan is convinced that there is no alternative to victory in the fight for justice, and that the numerous injustices, abuses, and attempts to persecute political opponents occurring today in the Republic of Armenia are destined to fail.”
