We Lost One of Our Best Citizens, Who Was a Guiding Star: Harutyunyan on Manaryan
The changes that took place in 2018 were also the result of Yervand Manaryan's struggle and civic stance, as we have seen him as a true intellectual and citizen. This was stated today by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Arayik Harutyunyan, during a conversation with journalists at the memorial service for the People's Artist of Armenia and honorary citizen of Yerevan, Yervand Manaryan.
“We lost one of our best citizens, who was a guiding star, whose words were very important, and who could speak at various public events, and his words could become an occasion for new developments and change the situation,” emphasized the minister.
It is noteworthy that today the memorial service for Yervand Manaryan is taking place at the Surb Hovhannes Church in Kond, Yerevan, with the participation of numerous officials. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and his wife Anna Hakobyan were also present.
