Charentsavan Mayor Misappropriates Property Using His Father's Position: Open Letter
Charentsavan resident Tatul Ivanian has addressed an open letter to Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, asserting that the current mayor of Charentsavan has illegally seized his gas station over the years.
“Dear Mr. Prime Minister, in 2003, I purchased a gas station in Charentsavan. The capital structure of 49.3 square meters is located on Shahumyan Street in the city. Subsequently, I leased an adjoining 130 square meters of land for ten years. However, the current mayor, Hakob Shahgaldyan, utilized his father Kovalenco Shahgaldyan’s position, who was then the governor of Kotayk Province, to seize my legally owned capital structure and the 130 square meters of land in 2008. I approached law enforcement agencies, but to no avail. They verbally reached an agreement with Mayor Hakob Shahgaldyan, promising me land in another area, which remained an unfulfilled promise.
Hakob Shahgaldyan, through his aunt Gayane Shahgaldyan, who was the head of one of the tax services in Charentsavan, falsified debts against me. They forged documents claiming that I owed the state money while using the gas station. Later, I was declared bankrupt, and the Shahgaldyans seized my property.
I also want to inform you that I have complained about this matter to various institutions for years, but the case has been kept under wraps. On June 9, 2020, I contacted National Assembly member Sasun Mikayelyan, but he responded with a lack of action. Your direct intervention is necessary to resolve this issue. Mr. Prime Minister, please instruct to investigate this case; you will verify the truth of my claims. I have all the relevant documents to support my statements.”
