Razmik Abrahamyan’s Charges Intensified, Released on 5 Million Dram Bail
The director of the Republican Institute of Reproductive Health, Perinatology, Obstetrics, and Gynecology, Razmik Abrahamyan, has had his charges modified and expanded. He now faces a new accusation under Article 167, Part 3 of the Criminal Code, which pertains to the separation of a child from their parents without consent, carried out by an organized group.
This information was confirmed in an interview with Abrahamyan's lawyer, Hovhannes Kocharyan.
Previously, Razmik Abrahamyan was accused under Article 167, not part 3 but part 2, clause 2 (illegal separation of a child from parents or child exchange). Thus, Abrahamyan's charges have been intensified.
In a conversation with the media, the lawyer mentioned that the Investigative Committee submitted a petition to the court for Abrahamyan's imprisonment, which was granted. However, an alternative preventive measure was applied, setting bail at 5 million drams.
Kocharyan stated that Razmik Abrahamyan does not accept the charges brought against him.
